About BioVantage Fuels, LLC

BioVantage Fuels started as an idea at Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University put together by co-founders Christopher Kelson and Brian Coker. After graduating in 2005, Chris and Brian founded the company with outstanding support from Belvidere and the surrounding community, notably the AgTech Initiative, Growth Dimensions, Boone County Farmers, and Alpine Bank.

Founded in late 2006, the company broke ground on their Belvidere facility in September of 2007, began startup in June of 2008, and produced ASTM-grade fuel from their primary input sources by September of 2008. The company currently produces high-quality biodiesel (denoted B-100) from used cooking oil and is working to expand production.
